Finding the name for the book usually makes me bang my head on the keyboard. My editor and I were suggesting names and nothing seemed to fit. And then I thought about Shuet, one of the main characters in the book. How she was a creature of the night, hiding from the sun, observing the night skies when others slept.
In my mind's eye I saw here, in moonlight, listening to the song of the stars. She was considered to be the daughter of Thoth, the god of wisdom and the moon because of her albino skin. Because of this she was called the Moon Daughter.
And there I had the name of the book. The Moon Daughter.
I sent the idea to Cathy from Avalon Graphics who designs my book covers, and told her about Shuet and the name of the book. I wanted the cover to be in line with the first one, resembling it, so that readers know they are of the same series. After a few tweaks this is the result - and I for sure love it.
The editing is now in its final stages, so soon I shall be sending Moon Daughter to my reader team. And a few weeks after that it will be officially published.
