We were at Koli, one of our very favourite holiday locations. It is situated in eastern Finland, the roots of ancient Karelide mountains formed 1800 million years ago. It was mid-March and at its best there was -29 Degrees of frost at night. At a corner of our hotel room window beautiful frost flowers appeared. One morning, when I got up at sunrise, I saw the sun touch these beautiful feather-like frost flowers, making them glisten. They looked like they were floating against the morning sky, silver and golden, reflecting the sunlight. I took this photo that morning. I often look at it, wondering at the beauty of winter and of nature.
