thought for the day

BE KIND TO OTHERS

"In a world where you can be anything, be kind."

One way to make yourself happier is to be kind to others. Really. The new "positive psychology" has been developing for some three decades now. Before that psychology concentrated on negative issues, coping with them. Then the thought arose that what if people were taught happiness. What they should do to become happier. And doing random acts of kindness to others is a great way to do this. Really, it has been scientifically researched and proven by Yale university.

I found an interesting organisation online. It is called Random Acts of Kindness and I intend to dig into their archives for sure.

But if you would like to get ideas on how to be kind to others, check out their Random Acts of Kindness calendar.

HAPPINESS JOURNAL / DIVINE MUSIC

I took this photo somewhere in Turin, Italy in 2016. A guitar with angel wings was hanging on the wall. I bet many would have wanted to see if it played divine music.

DAILY FUNNY / EATING BUGS

A boy asked his father, "Dad, are bugs good to eat?"

"That's just disgusting. Don't talk about things like that over dinner," the dad replied.

After dinner the father asked, "Now, what did you want to ask me?"

"Oh, nothing," the boy said "There was a bug in your soup, but now it’s gone."

Do you have a funny story you would like to see published in this letter? An event, what someone said? If so, send me your funny story in an email

(I especially love the funny things children say!).

Glass of wine with friends

The beautiful summer weather continues. We walked a short distance to meet a friend (now that the society is beginning to open up again from the first - and hopefully last - wave of corona virus). Sitting outside we enjoyed little munchies and wine, and each other's company.

Thinking of things that truly make me happy, friends are definitely on that list!

What made you happy today? Send a note and tell, if you wish to share your little happy moment with others.
