  • Daily Funny: Javelin

I hope this little email (posted Monday - Friday) will uplift and encourage you to see the good things all around you.

thought for the day

the things you like

What is the thing you love doing? Something that makes you forget the time?

Isn't it often something you used to love doing already when you were young? Is it something you stopped doing when life happened? (It is an easy thing to happen with all of life's commitments.) Could it be something you could get involved with again?

It is important to do things we like doing. Not everything can be about work and duties. So find those watercolours and brushes, start writing that story, go to the gym, go hiking, go see a movie in a real movie theatre instead of Netflix, plant flowers or veggies in your garden if you have one. Do whatever makes you smile. You deserve it.

picture of the day

ladder against an old oak

I took this picture in Mathidledal in SW Finland. An old oak in the forest near an old house - someone had put a ladder leaning against it - maybe someone was planning on building a tree house?

DAILY FUNNY

Javelin

"Guess what my son did to the javelin I gave him as a present?"

"What did he do?"

"He threw it away!"

Do you have a funny story you would like to see published in this letter? An event, what someone said? If so, send me your funny story in an email

(I especially love the funny things children say!).

My email  for the Daily Happiness Journal is

today's happiness

Planting trees

Yesterday the local Lions Club planted trees in a former gravel pit. There were about 15 of us, and we planted approximately 4000-5000 pine tree saplings. Boy my muscles ache today, but the work made me happy. I love trees and forests, and now I could be a part of creating a forest.

What made you happy today? Send a note and tell, if you wish to share your little happy moment with others. The email address for this daily post is happinessjournal@yahoo.com

Daily quote

We could learn a lot from crayons:

some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull.

Some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.

- Robert Fulghum

QUOTE FROM Nephilim Quest 1: chapter 1: In the shadow of war

Dying was nothing like I had expected it to be.

A tunnel of light? Nope.

Angels around you? Ha!

Heavenly music? Ya right…

A feeling of bliss and a consciousness that expanded to understand all the secrets of the universe? Dream on, honey, dream on…

I just woke up in my room - at least, somewhere that I thought at first was exactly like my room - but when I turned my head to see what the weather was doing outside, the scenery beyond the window had utterly changed.

That was the first hint everything was not as it should be.

- Leena Maria / Space Witches 1 : The Book of Witches / Chapter 1: Waking Up Dead

I sell my books directly too - the ebooks are cheap to buy and the big e-stores don't share much to the author. So I have downloaded my ebooks to Payhip - they don't take commission and I get more to pay for my editor, proofreader and cover designer. All of whom are one-woman businesses themselves. (You get the ebook in your preferred e-reader format.)

If you prefer to write a short happy note each day, I have created planners for this effect. You can write your daily happiness in the squares of the weekly spread - and plan future happiness using the monthly pages. There are even happy (repositionable) stickers included in the planner.
